Methven is all year round town. In the winter it is predominately a ski town servicing one of New Zealand nearby premier Ski Fields - Mt Hutt. It really comes alive in the winter with a typical 'apres - ski' atmosphere. However it is increasingly becoming a popular stop-over in the summer also as it is surrounded by many of the great attractions of the New Zealand outdoors.
