Picton is a small seaside town where the Inter-Island Ferry from the North Island berths, and as such is a very popular stopover town for travellers. It is also the gateway to the numerous Islands that form the Picton Sounds. The Sounds offer numerous uninhabited beaches and are a wonderful area for boating, swimming, kayaking and diving.
